Society of America (OSA), and International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) is dedicated to preserving users'

HOO does not collect personally identifying information from users at the Hands-On Optics.org Web site except when
submitting a response to the questions posed in the "Optics Puzzler" section. To submit a response to the Optics
Puzzler it is suggested users enter an email address and have the option of including their first names, cities
and states for recognition purposes. In general, HOO gathers information about Hands-On Optics users collectively,
such as what areas users visit most frequently and what services users access the most. This Web site automatically
collects information about users' IP address, browser type, domain name, date and time of access, and general location
(country of access). HOO only uses such data in the aggregate to analyze site traffic. Cookies are used to initiate
user sessions, but no user information is tracked or recorded. HOO does not sell or distribute personally identifiable
information to third parties.
The links located on this Web site will direct users to Web sites outside Hands-On Optics. HOO does not control

We respect the privacy of children, and do not collect any more personal information than reasonably necessary to
enable them to participate in the activities we offer at our Web site.
Information Collected: With respect to our Web site visitors thirteen and younger, we collect no personal information
except an email address from those visitors who wish to submit a profile for inclusion in our network. We do not
condition a childs participation in an activity on the childs disclosure of more personal information than is
reasonably necessary to participate in the activity. Also, we do not have any agreements with outside organizations
to collect personal information through our Web site. Please note that were our Web site to collect additional
personal information, parents (and legal guardians) would have the right to consent to the collection and use of
