The Leslie Cube
A Leslie cube is a classic physics demonstration. It is usually made of aluminum and each side is finished differently: one side is painted with a glossy black paint, another side is painted flat black, the third side flat white, and the last side is left unpainted.
The Leslie Cube is filled with hot water, say 150 F. We then use a non-contact infrared thermometer to measure the temperature of each side.
Which side(s) will appear to be warmest and which side(s) will appear to be coolest according to the infrared thermometer?
