The Flip Side

I made a cylindrical mirror by taking a piece of mylar and wrapping it around a circular piece of plastic at each end.

If I hold the cylindrical mirror vertically, my reflection appears right side up.
If I hold the cylindrical mirror horizontally (keeping the distance to the mirror constant), my reflection appears upside down.  Why?
